I named my practice Healing Journeys because I believe that healing is a personal journey and I take the time to listen and understand to help each person find his or her path to health. My knowledge of bodywork and essential oils is integrated into each individualized treatment. I am a Certified practitioner of Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy ®, which I often integrate with acupuncture. I am continuing my education, earning a second degree in Chinese herbal medicine, recognizing how herbs are another great way to help people reach optimal health and well-being. I have also been in the corporate world as an accountant before entering the healing profession and I have raised two children, so I understand the daily stresses you may experience when balancing work, family, and personal health.
Each treatment is as unique as the individual visiting Healing Journeys Acupuncture. Some of the modalities that may be incorporated into your treatment include:

Moxibustion – use of dried Mugwort leaf that is burned to warm the meridians and points.
Cupping – using glass or plastic cups to create a vacuum over the surface of the skin in order to increase circulation in an area.
GuaSha – using a tool to gently rub the surface of the skin to increase circulation in an area.
Herbal Medicine – herbal tinctures, teas, powders, granules, pill forms, or topical applications that are individualized for each patient’s condition.
Qi Gong – specific breathing and movement exercise to increase vitality.
Tai Chi – movement exercises to increase harmony and vitality.
Oriental Nutrition – increasing or decreasing specific foods in accordance with the diagnostic pattern to help strengthen the body.
Tui Na/Acupressure – using specific bodywork techniques to activate the meridians and restore balance in the organ systems.
Arvigo Technique Maya Abdominal Therapy– a very specific form of manual therapy that increases circulation, opens energetic pathways, and corrects imbalances in the organ systems. This is done fully clothed and in conjunction with the acupuncture treatment.
Essential Oils – pure therapeutic grade essential oils applied topically to acupuncture points and along energetic pathways.
